Gauge
The gauge of a jewellery piece refers to how thick the jewellery piece is that is going into the pierced hole. It is also in relation to the thickness of the needle that made the piercing.

Length
The length refers to how long the jewellery post or pole that is going through the pierced hole.This does not include the top attachment.
